Jaelle was caught off guard on Valentine’s Day when she heard some unusual sounds emanating from her backyard. Upon investigating, she stumbled upon an orange tabby cat that was scratching at her door and desperately pleading to be allowed inside in the midst of the snow.
Upon opening the door, Jaelle, a foster volunteer for Un Chat à la Fois, a kitten rescue located in Quebec, Canada, welcomed a charming feline. She wasted no time in taking a snapshot of the cat and forwarding it to Marie Simard, the organization’s founder. Simard remarked that Jaelle acknowledged the fact that their organization did not take in adult cats, but wanted to help anyway. After seeing the picture, Simard felt an immediate pang in her heart and directed Jaelle to take the cat to their collaborating clinic for a thorough vet evaluation.
According to her, his expression conveyed everything that was necessary. She continued by saying that he lingered in front of her door for some time, but when she urged the woman to take him in, he didn’t resist. The feline received medical attention at the veterinary clinic, where he was treated for injuries sustained from bites, as well as flea and tick infestation, frostbite, decayed teeth and diabetes. Had he not sought assistance, there would have been no way for him to survive that harsh winter.
The feline showed his appreciation for the kind people who rescued him by displaying a cheerful and thankful demeanor. Simard, the caregiver, shared that he was friendly towards the veterinary clinic’s staff, even extending his paw out of his enclosure so they could pet him. Aslan was given his name after the lion character in “The Chronicles of Narnia” books. Following his stay at the clinic, his health improved, and he was transferred to a foster home where his new mom showered him with more affection and care.
Aslan was absolutely smitten with his foster mother and never missed a chance to show his appreciation for her. According to Simard, Aslan was a very loving cat who enjoyed snuggling up close to his foster mom while sleeping. It is heartwarming to see that Aslan is now living a pampered life, devoid of any struggles for food or shelter in harsh weather conditions. He is blessed to have found a family that adores him immensely.
